Mr. Gagnon's Social Studies Class

Third Quarter- February 6-10 1. Current assignments due: Time Line - a. Events in the life of Mohammed (50 points) b. Map activity, The Spread of Islam (50 points) Both are pass due. Current: Map activity: Muslim Distribution Map (50 points) Due Feb 9. Quiz coming up on the Islamic Empire - Tuesday, February 14 (Valentine's Day) 100 points.

2. Next week we will be starting our major essay on the spread of Islam. Each completed step is worth 50 points with the final essay worth 100 points. NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED FOR ESSAY.

3. PROJECT FOR THIRD QUARTER - Due March 12 - All students will prepare a visual presentation either a poster or foldable or presentation board showing the similarities and contrasts between Islam and Christianity. I will send home next week all of the details about this project. This will be worth 200 points.

5. NOTE: Students who are absent are responsible to fill in their notebooks for that day, get the appropriate work missed, and take any missed tests or quizzes. We appreciate your involvment in getting all work done at home that was missed in class. 6. TCI (Teacher's Curriculum Institute) students (advanced material) WILL FINISH "THE ISLAMIC WORLD" AND TEST NEXT WEEK.
